3.To deepen awareness of ourselves and enter our inner world we will be learning the art of  journalling. This acts as a way of mirroring ourselfs for self healing. These one day workshops are time for you to listen to your inner world and to take time for yourself, through learning the above skills. It is a day to recharge your batteries, connect to your inner wisdom, your body, your breath and your natural capacity for joy. You can develop a kinder relationship and deeper understanding of your body. You can learn to live more fully from your centre intead of just from your head. Take time to breath more fully into yourself, stretch your body and begin releasing the blocks and layers of numbness and tension which build up through your life and the lives and history you carry within.  You will come away refreshed and enlivened.  You will learn new skills to use in your everyday life for your well being and happiness.

What type of yoga do I teach
You do not have to be flexilble, fit or feel good about your body to come to a class. That will gently begin to happen naturally just by turning up each week. Each class has gentle through deeper stretches to suit all levels of practice.
Beginners Welcome. I teach a lovely, gentle, flowing, form of ashtanga yoga where each person starts with less than they think they can do and very gradually can build up to a little more when their body is ready. This is great to sort out sore, stiff backs. You will begin to feel well and healthy not just physically but also mentally and emotionally.
Come and try for yourself and do as much or as little as you are comfortable with.

What to bring & what to wear

  • Bring water to sip through the class.

  • Wear clothes which are easy to stretch in.

  • Lots of thin layers with a warm outter layer is good so you can be cool if you get warm or add layers if you cool down, esp this time of year!

  • Mostly we work in bear feet but if you get cold feet you can work in thin socks and take them off as you warm up. You can have a thicker pair on top to go home in with the cold weather

  • Bring a blanket for the relaxation at the end. Some people wear a hat to keep there head warm

What is it like in a class

  • The only reason we feel stiff is we use our body but we do not stretch our body. When you are new to a class you are not supposed to be flexilbe, fit, or know what you are doing straight away.  It is very important to take you own time. Please be gentle with you body and the process of learning. To learn something new starts with not knowing anything - how great. Take breaks as you feel like it and keep to the most simple versions  of the postures which is version 1 or 2  -  even if you think you could/should do more try and hold back until you see how your feel over the next day or so. Each week you can begin to do a little more.
  • I teach a lovely, flowing form of yoga gently based on ashtanga. It has a sequence which you will learn just by coming regularly. You can look like one of those stretchy people - eventually!
  • You do not have be flexible, that happens gently over time by turning up each week. It is great if you have stiff, tight muscles as they need to learn to relax. You can enjoy slowly learning to stretch, tone and relax into your own unique body without straining or pushing. If you are confused in a class you are doing too much - there is no need, your body loves slow and gentle when it is learning.
  • The classes have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. If you are late it does not matter just get there when you can and just come in and join in as you can..
  • You can start any time in the term.
  • You can drop in or pay termly and come to any class each week.
  • The classes are non religious.
  • Beginners are welcome to any class as in each class there are gentle and deeper stretches to suit all levels. Please feel free to ask any questions.
  • Great to ease tight muscles and to wind down.
  • I have spare mats and I also sell them at a very reasonable price.
  • Bring a friend and make it a social event.
